Open Call: Artists Wanted for WATERFRONTS

WATERFRONTS invites applications from artists based in Sweden, Greece, and Croatia to participate in a transformative, cross-border cultural programme addressing climate change and community resilience through art. We are seeking six artists—two from each country—to engage in a series of residencies, workshops, and co-creation activities that will culminate in public artworks, exhibitions, and policy contributions.
About WATERFRONTS
WATERFRONTS is a Creative Europe-funded initiative that brings together artists, scientists, and communities to explore the intersections of climate resilience, eco-anxiety, and social inclusion in coastal regions. Through artistic engagement, the project aims to empower waterfront communities and foster sustainable, inclusive solutions to environmental challenges.
What Selected Artists Will Do
Participate in Local and Transnational Residencies: Engage in residencies in your home country and collaborate with peers from Sweden, Greece, and Croatia.
Co-Create with Communities: Work closely with local communities to develop artworks that reflect their experiences and aspirations.
Contribute to Public Exhibitions: Showcase your work in exhibitions that will be held in each participating country.
Inform Policy Recommendations: Provide insights that will contribute to policy discussions on climate adaptation and cultural engagement.
Eligibility
Artists residing in Sweden, Greece, or Croatia.
Open to all disciplines, with a focus on socially engaged practices.
Demonstrated interest in climate issues, community engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Curriculum Vitae (CV): Detailing your artistic background and relevant experience.
Portfolio: Showcasing previous work, particularly projects involving community engagement or environmental themes.
Statement of Interest: Explaining your motivation to join WATERFRONTS and how your practice aligns with the project's objectives.
